Here is a quick bit of news for everyone. Since yesterdays launch of the Borderlands 2 Vita Slim Bundle several retailers have sold out of stock. Gamestop, Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and Target have all sold out of their online stock of the Borderlands 2 Vita bundles. Even several brick and mortar stores near the VitaBoys headquarters sold out of their stock yesterday. Expect to see a HUGE jump in sales numbers when Sony releases them next week. What do you guys think, could the newer Vita model and Borderlands help move Vitas.

I have a trip to New York city next week, July 10, and I woauld like to buy the new Ps Vita bundle over there but I've read thar the Ps Vita Borderlands bundle is scarce, that can't be found in shelves or online due to a healthy demand on the US, can anyone confirm this?
ReplyDeleteOkay ... but not really relevant to the question I asked. Probably more appropriate as a post to start another discussion thread.
ReplyDeleteNot being able to transfer content this year is annoying when you have over 30 downloaded games on an old console you no longer use very frustrating I don't believe they are listening to the people who play games
ReplyDeleteGreat point I could not agree more in all the years of gaming 2014 is very slow and boring I believe that if the made more titles lets just throw Skyrim what a great game to put on the Vita while we wait in our boredom this year sucks for games I am upset that only a handful of actual good games are coming out this year for consoles
ReplyDeleteOh good everything is OK
ReplyDeleteget your information correct they have been sold out don't post unless you actually know what you are talking about yes Best Buy had them but they also sell them and the sold out and as he said at the time of this article and at this very time they are sold out hope that was specific enough

ReplyDeleteI HAVE NEVER HAD ANY OF THE PS SYSTEMS BUT I BOUGHT THIS AND HAVING BORDERLANDS 2 IN MY HANDS PLEASE KEEP MAKING MAINSTREAM TITLES THAT IS WHAT GAMERZ WANTED OUT OF THE PS VITA PS3 GAME EMULATED IN THEIR HANDS THANK YOU SO MUCH WHOEVER CAME UP WITH PUTTING BORDERLANDS ON THIS CONSOLE ABSOLUTELY GENIUS
ReplyDeleteYES MAKE MORE GAMES LIKE FAR CRY 3 OR SOME GOOD GAMES
ReplyDeleteI played Borderlands 2 when it was free for PS+ members last month, and what immediately turned me off is that it looked like a PC port. The font was difficult to see (and yes I have a big enough HD TV). I think the movement might have been too fast for my liking, compared to other games, but maybe those are both things some gamers like.
ReplyDeleteI was waiting to buy a Vita, and then news hit about the Vita slim in the UK, so I just waited for the US release... BUT then I heard it would be bundled with Borderlands 2... which I hate! So I'm holding off until a better bundle comes out. I would love a Htsune Miku bundle, although I recognize that would be a little niche since not everyone likes/plays that game.
ReplyDeletePick my bundle up from Dell. (Only place I could find it in stock) All I have to say is this bundle rocks! I'm a fan of the newer slimmer model for sure.
ReplyDeleteBiased? The game is an inferior PORT (which makes up most of the Vitas library besides indies) The game had a lower FPS only TWO person multiplayer and less enemies on screen...The only people who would be giving this good reviews are those who never played it on PC or PS3. Even the user reviews on most sites are 7-7.5 which is "meh" Not ""Loving this game" mate.
ReplyDeleteI am disgusted as well by many of the gaming sites reviews. I even experienced some reviews coming out for the Vita version well before the game released. The game is very good on the Vita and I recommend buying it
ReplyDeleteWe have not heard anything about any new or future Vita combos, except for the Sly cooper bundle and potential Ratchet and Clank Bundle. I agree with everything you said, and could you imagine how nice an assassins creed bundle would be for the Vita
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen any press from Sony or anyone in the gaming industry about possible future Vita combos? It seems to me that the combos are what push sales. Especially when paired with AAA gameplay from titles like Assassin's Creed, Borderlands, God of War, Uncharted, Call of Duty, and so on. When paired with a AAA game and a memory card, the offering overcomes the value proposition obstacles. You would think this would have been a keystone element of the sales strategy, but it doesn't seem to be.
ReplyDeleteThe God of War Collection is a 75% answer to what fans were asking for in that release (where's GOW 3 and the PSP GOW games?). Sony needs to figure out that PS3 ports are great filler for the release schedule to keeps fans happy until the next big original release. Indie developers are finally cranking games out for the system.
What players are looking for, however, is the kind of gameplay available in titles like Assassin's Creed (where's that collection?), God of War and Borderlands 2. That's what is bringing consumers to the register/shopping cart and getting them to part with cash.
I have long held that the one and only answer to any question Sony may have about the PS Vita and it's marketability is games.
Need longer battery life? No ... give me great games.
Want a higher resolution screen? No ... give me great games.
Need bigger thumb sticks? No ... give me great games.
Release the entire PS game catalog (PS1/2/3 and PSP) for Vita, and then worry about the hardware. Personally, I like the old Vita better than the Slim. The screen is brighter. I slipped mine into a controller case, and whammo ... great gaming. No reason to upgrade to the Slim ... just give me great games. Once that answer has been given, then worry about hardware. When there are 15 million in circulation, then worry about hardware.
There are some fantastic games in the catalog now ... but I'm not going to keep playing Uncharted forever waiting for new AAA games. At some point I'll just get bored. And Sony could have quickly capitalized on its existing PSP market if it had only found a way to allow current PSP owners to carry over some (not all, just some) of their game/media catalog with them. That was a whiff. And a TV out or some kind of streaming-to-TV solution with the Vita would be nice. I miss that feature in my PSP.
I hope this is true. Some of these gaming sites disgust me on their biased reviews. If you look at anyone who bought the game, everyone is loving this game! I just hope word of mouth can overpower this circus going on. I'm just glad there is some positive news!
ReplyDeleteStop this grammar!...
ReplyDeleteSony won't have these sales in their earnings report next week. that report will be sales as of March 31st. we also won't get NPD numbers from this until at E3 or just after.
ReplyDeleteoh me too! Me too

ReplyDeleteThat Is definitley true. The most important thing is how does it contribute. Honestly if this isn't a big turning point for the Vita then there won't be a big turning point
ReplyDeleteI have no dought that these vitas will be out of stock for the first week or two, the real question is by how much will they contribute towards the installbase.
