Pokemon Lookalike Collectems Headed To The PS Vita

Collectems is officially being developed for the playstation vita by game developer The Layabouts.

Collectems is an open world RPG "made in the spirit of Pokemon Red an Blue." The game has the look and feel of the classic Pokemon games you used to play as a kid. Players will be able to discover several different Collectems species to battle out in a turn-based RPG style.

Collectems takes the concept of an non-linear open world Pokemon game and adds a little unique concept to it. Players will be able to enjoy a randomized world each time they play. This means the location of species, opponents, and loot will be different each time you play.

Collectems is in early development for the PS Vita system as well as the PS4. It is likely we will see cross-save and cross-buy functionality implemented, however it's much too early to determine that.

  1. I know people are already making fun of this in their heads. But I think it's pretty cool. Until they run into a lawsuit of course

  3. I wish they hadn't gone for the old school look though, not a big fan of that. But if the gameplay is top notch I doubt ill care.

  4. if only it had a bit of color I'd be interested. But even when I was a kid I hated the green with black lines of the old gameboy.

  5. I don't think the gameplay will be anything special. Just oldchool turn based.

  6. Yeah. I believe the most important issue is how well they handle the gameplay. Everything else won't matter as much. We will be doing an interview soon with the developers. So keep an eye out for that if you want to learn more

  7. Color appears to be an option in the game. You can choose to play monochrome or colored.

  13. "made in the spirit of Pokemon Red and Blue" I think you mean rips straight from the creators hands. Seriously not only are the designs shows above shitty they vaguely remind me of a few pokemon. This isn't inspired at all they are just hoping that they can capitalize on the popularity of pokemon without putting in any real effort.

Say what you will about recent pokemon designs being good or not. Even the worst pokemon doesn't look this bad!
