The PS Vita is in Extremely High Demand Right Now

Honestly, I can truly say I never thought I would get to write an article like this. The Playstation Vita is in such high demand right now that Sony is having trouble keeping them stocked at retailers.

A representative from Sony spoke on the issue of PS Vita shortages saying "The U.S. launch of the slimmer and lighter Vita has generated strong interest among gamers, and we're working to replenish supply here to ensure continued momentum leading into the holidays."

Even a Gamestop representative weighed in on the issue saying "The system has sold better than expected and we are working closely with Sony to receive more (systems)."

It is hard to say why there was such a sudden boost in PS Vita interest, heaven knows it wasn't due to E3. Perhaps the recent launch of Borderlands, or the upcoming Vita version of Minecraft has sparked some badly needed interest. The PS4 is also low on stock, perhaps there is correlation there. Whatever the reason lets continue to support the Vita, and watch it grow in numbers!

  1. Totally agree with you. I've got 70+ games on vita now including psp and ps one games I never got the chance to play or fancy replaying. As a future parent there's games in the psn library that would keep kids busy for the whole summer plus more. PS+ gives the kids at least a free vita game every month and the sales and classics can be purchased for $8. There's lengthy and wholesome games like final fantasy 6 to 10, trails of the sky, disgaea, monster hunter, dragon ball z, terraria, tactics ogre, harvest moon, crash bandicoot, gran turismo (800 cars to collect), etc. Then there's Co op like monster hunter, ragnarok ace, sword art online, EDF, sonic racing ... It just gives and gives. It's the sales and deals every week which I give applaud to Sony and the vita. Can't wait for mine craft so I can lounge on bed/sofa!!

  4. We are working very hard to fix this issue. It has been occurring for a while now. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

  5. Very true, in the grand scheme of things this may not necessarily be a huge factor in the overall success of the Vita. However it is potentially a stepping stone for Sony to "re-launch" the system

  8. Good to see the Vita picking up. The Vita has been selling very low numbers this bump isn't huge but if they can maintain the small increase in sales it will at least maintain the Vita from sinking and the 3rd party localizations coming.

BUSTED! lol. great find for another phony track record of sony affiliates.

Sony marketing team have always been performing soap operas to pump up the artificial high demand. Paying fake reviews is like a ritual for sony :

  15. I seriously think it's minecraft and borderlands because the summer is here and parents want kids/teenagers to play something on long trips. And kids love minecraft I know my son does he plays it on ps3 and pc and told me I better buy him a vita just for minecraft......i already own a vita with 33 games already(physical copies)

  16. You mean understocked because of low demand and thus creating artificial demand to be able to overhype - the Sony way.

Artificial demand is artificial. Especially when it comes from a biased site called 'VitaBoys' and no credible links to back up the claim. Do not let anything on the internet dictates your wallet. Sony is trying hard to slam a non-popular product down your throat.
