Shahid Kamal's Team Alone Has More Than 70 PS Vita Games In Development

With all this disappointing news circulating about the PS Vita after E3 2014, it is nice to see Sony talking to disheartened fans. One of Sony's staffers who has really stepped up to the plate has been Shahid Kamal, and his team.

Mr. Kamal has been very vocal in the development community with the PS Vita. So vocal in fact that his team alone is currently working on more than 70 games for the Vita. Now, you should understand that we probably know of most of these games already but that doesn't discount how many he is working on. Another fact is that his team usually works on Indie titles. But if he is usually working on Indies that still leaves about 30 games still being worked on by various teams other than Shahid's. This could mean that many of those games could very likely be AAA titles, of course that's just speculation.

On top of all this Gio Corsi's team also has many games in the pipeline for the Vita.

  1. I see the games coming out, even if they are indies, they are still something to play, and some of them are great titles. My worries are for the support of of the Vita period. I'm a huge firmware update fan, there is nothing I love more than cool new features being introduced. I believe that's why I love the PSMobile section of the Playstation Store so much, those developers are continuously making useful apps for the Vita that I feel should be on the system by default. Notepads, weather apps, comicbook readers, they even have a Tumblr app, something I know a lot of people have been begging for. May not be the greatest as of yet, but it is at least offered. Even things that aren't as useful like a QR reader and chatrooms nobody ever uses are there. Give us reasons to use the camera and video features with apps like Vine, Snapchat, etc... I love new features, and I want updates to the ones already offered. Flickr has been broken since release, both Google maps and the Facebook app could use an update on features. Updates to the web browser and camera would be very welcome. They can't add optical zoom, but they can add digital. Even though the camera is not so great and zooming would probably make it worse, it should be an option. The calendar was a nice feature to add, even though I already had one from PSMobile, but it's been a while since we've seen anything new, heard about any updates, or even announcements. I take my Vita everywhere, and I use it for everything it has to offer, I love the games, but I also love everything else it can do. I hope Sony doesn't forget about all these other wonderful uses.

  2. Gamescom will definitely bring those stocks back up. The Vita will also get some AAA games at gamescom, don't worry

  6. One cannot live on indies & japanese games alone. I can, most of the Vita community can't.

  7. Many indies on a dying platform/accessory won't save a company from financial troubles, it just wasting time & resources. Sony's stock price has been dropped to below $16 after the E3. Not a good sign in business perspectives, too many AAA games got delayed.
